On the land of Nuba; gloriously stayed the magnificent two rock-cut Temples of Abu Simbel! The location has been picked up carefully by King Ramses for one good reason; that the spot has been a sacred site to Hathor ages ago prior to the existence of those temples.

Believed to be built during the 19^th Dynasty Pharaoh Ramses II; they are actually two individual Temples, greater of them has been dedicated to the God Amun, Ptah, Re-Horakhty.
Temples are not really built; as a matter of fact, it has been carved out of living rocks standing for 98 feet & 115 feet long! At the entrance you will find four seated colossi of Ramses; each of them is almost 66 feet high.

An amazing event takes place twice a year at that Temple where the sun extends its first rays right to the head of the King Ramses once during his birthday & the other on the coronation day.
